SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Nidul Sinha is born to a farmer family in a small village, Goldarpur, in Kailashahar subdivision of North Tripura District in Tripura. He attended Vidyanagar Higher Secondary School for his education up to high school examination and then studied in Radhakishore Institution for his 10 ( +2) education. He obtained his B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tripura Engineering College (now NIT, Agartala) in 1984. Then he worked in Calcutta Port Trust as a trainee before joining as a lecturer in Regional Engineering College (now NIT Silchar) in 1985. He obtained his M. Tech. Degree in Power Apparatus and Systems from IIT, Delhi, in 1989 and Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University on application of intelligent techniques for optimal operation of power system. His research interests are: AGC, Application of soft computing techniques, Micro Grid, Video Compression, brainwaves analysis.
