SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. B.K. Roy was born in Dibrugarh, Assam (India) in 1961. He completed his earlier schooling from Dibrugarh Bengali High School, Dibrugarh. He did Pre-university from Dibrugarh H.S. Konoi College, Dibrugarh during 1977 to 1979. After completing B.E. in Electrical Engineering from REC Silchar, he joined as lecturer in Electrical Engg. Department, REC(presently NIT), Silchar during 1986. Subsequently, he completed his M.Tech.(in 1989) with Control Systems specialization and Ph.D. (in 1998) both from IIT Kharagpur, India. At present he is working as Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Silchar.

About Binoy Krishna Roy

After completing HSLC from Dibrugarh Bengali High School in 1977, Dibrugarh, Assam, I did my Pre-Degree from Konoi College, Dibrugarh. Then my journey started in the EE Department, REC Silchar (1979 to 1985). I joined my faculty position in 1986 at REC Silchar. Subsequently, I completed my MTech (1989) in Control Systems and PhD (1998) from IIT Kharagpur, and LLB (2007) from Assam University, Silchar. Currently, I am working as a Professor in Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Silchar. My interests are teaching, research, sharing experiences of 35+ years, social activities, listening old songs, etc.
